Known as the King of Swing, Benny Goodman’s iconic recordings of the 1930's & 40's are instantly recognizable and still popular today. Benny also featured a wonderful small band that could play it hot on blazing on tunes like “Slipped Disc” and “Airmail Special" plus delicate numbers like “Memories of You.” In this concert, Paul Cosentino and the Boilermaker Jazz Band bring the energy and delicate swing in a six piece configuration performing some of Benny's best known material plus some of your favorite Goodman Big Band melodies. Jennifer McNulty brings you selections by Benny's Gals, including hits by Peggy Lee, Liltin' Martha Tilton and more.
