David Johansen (of New York Dolls)

(Cabaret section for this show is no longer available.)     Best known as founder and frontman of the seminal proto-punk New York Dolls, David Johansen achieved commercial success under the pseudonym Buster Poindexter with the hit "Hot Hot Hot." A musical chameleon, Johansen also took a shot at country blues with The Harry Smiths. David appeared in several films and his music is heard on several soundtracks.  He was an SNL musical mainstay and he hosts a weekly satellite radio show. In addition to periodically reforming The Dolls with Sylvain Sylvain, David Johansen plays acoustic shows, which he’ll be doing at Sellersville Theater.
