W.C. Handy Award Winner Guitar Shorty, aka David Kearney, has been a blues staple for six decades! Recording his first single at 17 under the direction of Willie Dixon on the Cobra label, he’s played in backing bands for legends Ray Charles, T Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard & Sam Cooke. Guitar Shorty’s brother-in-law - Jimi Hendrix - was also a huge fan of his rockin’ blues guitar work!
