(Cabaret section for this show is no longer available.)     Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Melanie Safka first attracted national attention at Woodstock the summer of '69, which inspired her to write "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain).” Her gold single "Brand New Key" - an infectious romp about freedom and roller skates - topped the charts in 1971. Celebrating her 40+ year career, Melanie served as UNICEF spokesperson, performed worldwide from Royal Albert Hall to Carnegie Hall and her songs were covered by singers as diverse as Cher, Dolly and Macy Gray.
