Peter Gabriel invited Steve Hackett to join Genesis in 1970 and his involvement led to eight albums. Steve’s complex & distinctive playing contributed heavily to their early success and was quickly recognized as one of Britain's finest composers & guitarists. Steve also formed GTR with Steve Howe of YES and their collaboration yielded a platinum album with the hit “When the Heart Rules the Mind”, getting much MTV & rock-radio airplay. In all, Steve Hackett is an artist who has retained his artistic integrity and yet enjoyed sales in the millions worldwide through his various band & solo projects, who delivers not only as a brilliant rock guitarist & songwriter, but as a sensitive composer in the classical vein.
