Bev Conklin and her band have been staples of the region since their journey began as BC & The Blues Crew in the early 90s. They continue to invest in their music as singer-songwriters with a growing world-wide following. They have played most every major event in the region and continue receiving recognition and numerous awards along the way. Each member of this band has collaborated with many of the area’s well-respected musicians spanning over 4 decades

MoMojo Records signed Bev Conkin in August 2023 and they are releasing the band’s eighth CD, Glass Half Full on September 12. The timing couldn’t have been better for their new CD event on Sept. 13 at Sellersville Theater. (Sellersville is one of BC’s favorite hangouts.) Glass Half Full, is dedicated to Wayne Smith. Wayne has been the primary arranger and writer of this band since they began in the 90s, when he lost his brother and best friend, Dave Smith, to suicide... it hit him (and everyone) like a tsunami.

The album was recorded privately in one day at Godfrey Daniels (Bethlehem PA). In fact, the original concept was to put something down to build on, but this live effort was magic and couldn’t be repeated. The scratch vocals were left as-is. Each member of the band is a vessel for Wayne’s songs, presenting the pure, raw, heartfelt chemistry of the band. Hence their sentimental request for Friends of Godfrey Daniels (Dave Fry, Jack Murray and Nick Franclik) to open the show. Nick, former bassist and sub for the band, recorded the entire project with Dennis Wieand (Organ Den studio) remotely.

Look for the first single, “That Would Be Us,” to be released on July 25. The second single, a Blues song Smith wrote for BC, “Hooked On A Long Chain,” is expected on August 22 and the album, Glass Half Full, will be released on September 12. If there's a take-away from this tragedy, listen to the words... what Wayne conveys in each of the 12 songs he wrote will deliver love, hope, well-being and recovery. This album is not about the Blues, Soul or Rock… it’s about the influences impacted by the words inspired by Wayne Smith’s brother and the musician’s plight overall. The stories within each track will guide the listener through Wayne’s signature musical style and intended message. Stay tuned…
