Tom Rush is a legendary musician whose performances seamlessly blend tradition with fresh, forward-thinking sounds. His distinctive guitar style, wry humor, and expressive voice have made him a beloved figure in folk and blues. A key player in the ’60s folk revival, he later shaped the genre’s resurgence in the ’80s and ’90s, influencing artists like James Taylor and Garth Brooks. Beyond his own work, he has championed emerging talent, helping introduce Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and Nanci Griffith to wider audiences.

Starting in Boston’s coffeehouse scene while at Harvard, Rush quickly established himself, releasing two albums before graduating. Signed to Elektra in 1965, he recorded The Circle Game, which Rolling Stone credited with ushering in the singer-songwriter era. As folk evolved into folk-rock, he transitioned smoothly, touring with a full band and recording with Columbia. After a brief hiatus, he returned in 1981 to sold-out crowds, launching the Club 47 concert series to showcase both iconic and emerging artists. Today, Rush continues to tour, weaving rich storytelling and musical innovation into every performance.
