Canned Heat, established in 1966, gained prominence for their profound appreciation and mastery of blues music. The band achieved international success with three iconic rock anthems: “On The Road Again,” “Going Up The Country,” and “Let’s Work Together.” They solidified their place in rock history through memorable performances at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and as headliners at the legendary Woodstock Festival in 1969.
More than five decades later, with forty albums to their name, Canned Heat continues to thrive. Their enduring legacy is anchored by drummer, bandleader, and historian Adolfo “Fito” de la Parra, who has been a steady force for 53 years. Joining him is New Orleans legend Dale Spalding, in his twelfth year with the band, contributing harmonica, guitar, and lead vocals. Inventive bassist Rick Reed, known for his work with Paul Butterfield, John Mayall, and the Chicago Blues Reunion, became part of the lineup two years ago. The group’s newest member, Jimmy Vivino, brings exceptional talent on lead guitar and vocals, drawing from his remarkable career, including 28 years with Late Night with Conan O’Brien and collaborations with musical icons like Al Kooper, Charlie Musselwhite, and Michael McDonald.
Canned Heat remains dedicated to energizing and inspiring their fans with their creativity and vibrant performances, continuing to play live shows across the U.S. and around the world.
