Dr. Katherine Ramsland is an author and a professor of forensic psychology. You might have seen her as an expert on some of the 300+ crime documentaries, talk shows, and podcasts on which she has appeared. She’s written more than 2,000 articles and 74 books, including Confession of a Serial Killer, The Serial Killer’s Apprentice, The Mind of a Murderer, and How to Catch a Killer. She was also an executive producer on Murder House Flip, A&E’s docuseries Confession of a Serial Killer: BTK, and ID/HBO’s #1 docuseries The Serial Killer’s Apprentice. Over the past three decades, she has worked closely with FBI profilers, detectives, coroners, criminalists, criminologists, cops, and attorneys. She blogs for Psychology Today and has also written crime fiction, including a series based on a female forensic psychologist, who like her, consults on death investigations. (Even her horse has a book, Sherlock Horse.) Having been mentored by prominent experts who studied killers like Ted Bundy and Edmund Kemper, Dr. Ramsland has used their insights to get the most of talking to serial killers.
