Jimmie Allen - Stories Behind The Songs Acoustic Show

Unleashing his debut single “Best Shot” in 2018, which made history as the first No. 1 hit by a Black artist launching his country career, Jimmie Allen immediately caught the industry’s attention with his magnetic stage presence and compelling storytelling. Originally from Milton, Delaware, the country artist broke barriers and redefined the genre with his bold fusion of country, pop, R&B, and hip-hop.

Allen’s rise accelerated in 2021, when he swept major honors as New Artist of the Year from the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2022. His powerful performances lit up stages across the country, including the Stagecoach Festival (2019 & 2022), CMA Festival (2019 & 2022), his own Bettie James Fest (2021 & 2022), Barefoot Country Music Festival (2022), and the iHeartCountry Festival (2022 & 2025). In 2019 he performed twice on the TODAY Show and has made several guest TV appearances on The Jennifer Hudson Show in 2023, SHERRI and the Wendy WIlliams Show in 2022. Additionally, Allen has showcased his versatility across the entertainment and media landscape co-hosting the 2022 ACM Awards with Dolly Parton and Gabby Barrett, competing on Dancing with the Stars, and becoming a published author in 2021 with his acclaimed children’s book My Voice is a Trumpet.

This year, Allen released the single “Country Boys Never Learn” in collaboration with Young Grey and Noah Curtis, which has accumulated 400K streams to date. In the brand space, he’s previously partnered with Dove for a Men+Care campaign and Frozen Farmers for an exclusive Jimmie Allen ice cream flavor. Allen remains an advocate for representation in country music, speaking on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the genre, as well as mental health and more.
