Chicago-born guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Ronnie Baker Brooks is one of the world’s most electrifying bluesmen. The son of blues legend Lonnie Brooks, Ronnie inherited the torch and sharpened his craft alongside icons like B.B. King, Albert Collins, and Koko Taylor. “I’m blessed to have played with and learned from the best,” he says.
His latest album, Blues In My DNA, produced by Jim Gaines, is a soulful blend of blues, rock, funk, and heart—earning him three 2025 Blues Music Awards, including Contemporary Blues Artist and Album of the Year. Standout tracks like “Stuck On Stupid” and the autobiographical “Blues In My DNA” showcase his passion and fire, with lyrics that speak to overcoming adversity through music.
Ronnie began his journey as a roadie in his father’s band, gradually earning his spot as lead guitarist. He made his recording debut in 1988 and toured with Alligator’s 20th Anniversary band, jamming nightly with blues greats. Known for keeping it real and relatable, Ronnie builds bridges with every chord, living out the legacy passed down to him.
