Tarkus are dedicated to celebrating the compositional genius and groundbreaking work of the iconic trio Emerson Lake and Palmer. Expect to hear your favorite ELP classics and plenty of deep cuts! Tarkus are Keith Turner (keyboards), Mike Ian (guitar) and John M. Cassidy (drums).
Keith Turner mastered piano during the golden age of R&B, Classic Rock, and Motown in the 60s and 70s. He studied music, composing and performing originals as well as ELP works for his class, which included the late Billy Paul. Joining Tarkus was a dream come true for Keith, as Keith Emerson had been a lifelong inspiration.
Mike Ian, a talented multi-instrumentalist from New Jersey/Philadelphia, grew up in a musical family. He began as a drummer, inspired by his older brother, and later picked up the guitar at 11. With a formal education in music, Mike pursued his passion for recording and producing, eventually founding Eyeball Studios.
John M. Cassidy began drumming at 13, influenced by legends like John Bonham and Buddy Rich. After performing in local clubs, he moved to Hollywood to study at The Musicians Institute. His career included tours on the Vegas casino circuit and cruise ships. Returning to Delaware, John became the drummer for Tarkus.
