An evening of the songs of Harry Chapin played by his original band members. Harry’s brother Steve (piano and vocals), Big John Wallace (bass and vocals) and drummer Howard Fields were the original nucleus of Harry’s recording band and his concerts throughout his career. The guitars are provided by next generation talent…Clark Wallace on electric and Jonathan Chapin on acoustic. AND, the band is delighted to announce the return of the cello and to introduce Arlen Hlusko, whose playing on the instrument has re-energized Harry’s songs with the evocative nuances that Harry had in mind from the very beginning. THE CELLO HAS RETURNED!!
The band will perform Harry’s most loved songs like “Cat’s In The Cradle,” “Taxi,” “Mr. Tanner,” “WOLD,” “Mail Order Annie” and “Better Place To Be” plus some of Steve’s songs including “Let Time Go Lightly”. As usual, along with the familiar and carefully-presented music, the band will often detour along the way to retell interesting back-stories about the songs. Time seems to disappear while the living music of Harry Chapin plays on.
